TinyTube queuing operates like this.
A search result is displayed to a user in response to a query. Let’s assume it is in “queue” state, meaning that it is not cached, i.e. not already transcoded to mobile format.
The user clicks the video link a transcode order is placed and the user is issued a ticket. He is able to monitor the status of his ticket on the queue status page. When the order completes, the queue page updates and the video can be downloaded or streamed.
Now let’s suppose a short time later, a second user issues a search and the same video result appears. That video is now available immediately because of the first user’s order.
The queue/availabile status of a video is presented in the search results as an hourglass icon. If you don’t want to wait in queue, avoid links next to hourglasses, it’s that simple.
