Getting better search results
Posted in: Uncategorized
Many of you have been asking about why the search results are not specific enough. Getting more specific results is simply a matter of giving the system the right query. Here are a few examples of what you can do. This will soon be put in an FAQ on the main site for easy reference.
- Boolean queries. You can use AND to specify if all query terms are required. You may also use OR (the default).
- Use parentheses for boolean nesting.
- Use minus (-) to omit terms. This works like a NOT operator. The order doesn’t matter.
- Use plus (+) to require terms
- Use quotes to find an exact phrase
The punctuation characters are going to be difficult to enter on some mobile devices, sorry. Hope it’s helpful anyway.

David, Dazzler, Pamela,
Thanks for reporting the problem. It was introduced when we added the low-quality stream option. Should be fixed now, let us know if you continue to have trouble.
